Chrysler Reminds Us That It's Half Time in America

At Super Bowl XLV, Chrysler unveiled a daring ad, with Detroit native, and rap superstar, Eminem. At two minutes in length, the already classic "Imported From Detroit" ad is the longest, and perhaps, most famous in Super Bowl history... So it goes without saying that the American automaker had quite a bit to live up to as they went into the Big Game this year.

And live up, they did. We here at Three Rivers Chrysler Jeep Dodge love what they managed to put together. Specifically, this time, the company sought the help of true American icon in creating their ad for Super Bowl XLVI.

Who specifically did they get? That would be none other than the Man with No Name... Dirty Harry... Old Bill Munny... That's right, they got Clint Eastwood.

In the ad, Eastwood declares that it's half time, and both teams are talking about how they can still win the Big Game. He goes on to compare the struggle that the American economy has faced to a sort of Half Time in America, noting that the auto industry fought back and so can the rest of the country.

It's a powerful and striking ad that speaks to not just the auto industry, but the American people as a whole. The message? We can fight back. After all, models like the Chrysler 200 and 300C aren't just well made rides; they represent the best of the best in terms of American engineering and manufacturing.
