We here at Three Rivers Chrysler Jeep Dodge have been patiently waiting for a new pickup truck from Jeep. The American automaker has wowed us before with truck models, and recent rumors of a Wrangler-based truck have had us quite excited. After all, it's nearly impossible to not fall in love with the Jeep Wrangler and four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. These two models are prime examples of what can go right in a lineup, and they have the fan base to prove it!

While the good news is that Jeep is serious about bringing a Wrangler-based pickup truck to the market, the bad news is that we're in for a bit of a wait. Mainly, the Jeep Wrangler pickup truck won't be making an appearance on our lot at 2633 West Liberty Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15216 until at least 2015.

"It is too late in Wrangler's product cycle to add a pickup. The 2015 or 2016 time frame makes more sense," Jeep CEO Michael Manley said at the Frankfurt Motor Show. "That's when we will refresh the Wrangler."¹

The last Jeep pickup model that was release was the Jeep Comanche, which was based on the Jeep Cherokee. The model ran in production from 1986 until 1992, and it was a popular choice amongst fans. But, rumors about this new Wrangler-based pickup have resurfaced interest around a Jeep truck ever since fan sites started discussing it in September, 2010. This, after all, was shortly after Jeep introduced the Wrangler-based concept for the JK-8 in Orlando.
